My job onboard involves….spending time playing an teaching the ship kids…..at the moment , there is ten kids on fundeck! It is a callange living in your workplace knowing when to stop work or thinking bout the children as they become such a big part of ur life!
And it’s a challange remebering an seeing the bigger picture that even though im not working in the book fair with the children coming onboard each day, I still play apart in Gods body on Logos hope that through his Grace, brings many to know him. ( As do you through your prayers an support.)
God reminded me the other day that these children are just as much my minstry as the ones on deck four visiting the ship (infact our whole life is). In Mark 9v37 ‘Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me….’ In all things we do even the small little ones we can worship an Glorify God!
One massive priverlige is the freedom to pray with the kids, talk about God…….with them. Answer their why questions.
When they have asked you soo many times why…..with I don’t know thats just the way God made it!
The ship kids are proberly the only children in the world to know what a muster station drill is, act out a cherry red drill, an pull in a pretend mooring line!
They also act out alot of what we teach them, in many ways their is less influences from the world around them coming in. They have been Jesus dying on the Cross, Mary.. Jesus……David….Goliath……
The funniest thing happened the other day while we were in a pretend rocket travelling to space, Rebecca aged 4 – Said ‘ Ok now we are going to close are eyes an pray (an she prayed) an when we open them we are going to visit God in space!
