School kids, waiting to come on…
A Man walks into the line up teams office (line up are 3-4 people who go ahead of the ship to prepare the ship to come into that port.)
Can i tell you a story? The man asked.
‘Sure’ said Flo. (One of the line up team for kingston Jamaica)
The man proceded to tell Flo that 6 years ago a team from the Logos 2 visited one of the prisons in knigstown and shared there with a group of men how God had changed their lives. The man said at the end the team gave a challange to the men inviting them to accept Jesus into their lives. One of the men that day responded Yes and was conected by people from the Logos 2 to a local church in Jamiaca.
The man standing before Flo was the man who had followed this guy up after accepting Christ, a few months passed an the man did not have the chance to visit this man again. But he continued to pray for him.
While he was at a Christian conference in Jamaica just recently. The man from the prision he had followed up approached him and said remeber me?
I am out of prision an attending bible college I want to share with other how God changed my life!
So often we dont get to see the seed planted or all the links in the chain to make it complete, but we never know what something as simple as a kind word or smile or sharing your God story can do!
With so many people coming onboard in the last two ports it is not always possible to see or conect with them all. So we have to trust God to continue to use us in small ways so each person on board sees and senses a difference in each of our lives!
In Montego bay we had 83,474 vistors, with Montego bay having a population of 96, 000. Out of this number was 16, 000 school kids who all had the chance to hear God loves them in the Greatest treasure (a drama about God being the greatest treasure each school child sees while onboard.)
I decided to step out of my comfort zone an help out with this new outreach called the scripture funfair,
we set up along the line on the keyside as people wait and kids or parents can partake. There are six different activites that explain a different part of the gospel message. One acitivity includes jumping from this line to try to touch a target to far to possibly reach, explaining how we all fall short of Gods love.
At the end, the people who partake can choose to give theirlives to Christ or just recieve prayer.
A fourteen year old boy two activities down the track, learnt that God loved and wanted to spend eternity in heaven, he said ‘ No one ever told me about God til now, how do i get this love?
God allos us all to play a small part in a life changing goal!
